I am confused, I was looking for the MZ360221EX cable. I do not want the one with just the AUX headphone jack. I want the one that charges and allows control with the MMCS. I also read elsewhere in the forum that this cable did not work...

am I missing something?

This cable I used is not the one with the normal Aux connector, but with the iPod connector. The Aux cable will not give you the iPod functionallity on the MMCS. The first one I bought was like this and I returned it.

I'll see if I can get some pics of the iPod screen on the MMCS for you guys and post it ove rthe weekend.

The KCA-IP500 is what you get when you order the MZ360221EX cable, minus the Kenwood branding. However, the original Kenwood part costs half to 1/3 the price and does the same job (i.e full control, text, etc). So I don't see why anybody would pay 2-3x more for the exact same part with the exact same results.

... now I understand, the first few I saw on eBay were only the 3.5mm jacks, then others I saw said they did not charge the 3g.

Is there on that will charge the iPhone 3g and later iTouch units?

Do you know if this cable would work on the basic stereo, I am not really interested in the display, just in getting the sound from my iPod out of the car speakers. I dont want to use the FM transmitter route as the sound quality is poor. My Outlander Equipe does not have the auxillary port that some models come with.

So if anyone knows whether this would work or an alternative solution then I would be interested to find out.

Thanks

any idea if this will work on a 2010 Canadian model? would rather have confirmation before I spend 50 bucks on the cable.

Thanks

Anybody have an answer to whether that cable will work with the 07 MMCS? Not sure if plugging in that cable will just "wake it up" or if the 07 was not programmed to have direct iPod control. There's no iPod button that shows up on the screen, grayed-out or not.

iPod should show up only when you plug it into the unit. It will work on all Mitsubishi cars that have MMCS (navigation).
