the hard drive you connect it to pc with ide adapter, if you have a laptop you do not need the adapter of course.

THE ONLY WAY WHAT YOU CAN DO IS:
1. Unlock HDD
2. Manually replace loading.kwi file
3. Reload system ( Press together keys SET & NAVI 5 sec, Tap VERSION INDICATION, Press MENU key by 5 sec, Tap HDD Load from Load Menu) or just disconnect acu for a few mins

Copying from CD DOESN'T WORK because You have MMCS higher version then 50.11

 

You need to prepaire HDD with european maps, but don't forget to leave voice files inside maps (necessary american english )
In EM (european) version of MMCS You can change language by pressing SET key then tap SYSTEM and chooce language but I'm not sure if it's possible in US (UM) version
You will get trouble with radio frequencies probably too
