...why do you want to import a vehicle from Japan...that is already readily available locally?

did a quick search on autotrader.com, there is an '08 Outlander, AWD, for $7k.

it makes no sense to import something like that with a $4k premium. It will thoroughly confuse mechanics as they won't have that trim in their computer. I highly advise against it.

BTW, all Outlanders are technically from Japan. Just saying.

 

Yup, check the vehicle VIN# before buying, if it starts with "J", it was manufactured in Japan. It goes for all makes. As far as i know all regular Outlanders are made only in Japan.
