Question Installation of block heater Outlander

I live in Northern Alberta where it gets really cold in winter, -40 at times. I want to install a antifreeze style block heater. The Mitsubishi dealer told me I could buy a threaded block heater made by phillips temro which they sell. Does anyone know how to install one of these. The dealer told me it was a hard installation due to it being a all wheel drive. They quoted me $300.00.

Default heating pad

i have a heating pad on the oil pan on ours. I was told there wasn't any other type available (at least in 2007 when I bought the car) so I got a heating pad on the oil pan. Works fine and much cheaper.

Ha, Ha Firebretha! thats a good one! Ya pretty much what it is like up here in January! Tcp, I was going to install the oil pan heater but after getting info from some mechanics, they said the best way to go is the antifreeze style since it keeps the cylinders warm and you get faster warming of air from the heater. They do make a block heater for the Outlander but on the all wheel drive, they have to move back the transfer case in order to get at the threaded frost plug.
