I would just use the center storage compartment, I'd put some velcro on one side of the phone and on the inside of the storage and walla! At least thats what I will do with an aftermarket GPS unit that I will be getting soon, roughly the size of the Iphone. The cool thing about placing it there is you could always close the lid to hide it, and its at a good viewing level.

I tried the location you mention, but is kind of far away to see it when you have a video clip. Also to navigate the screen is difficult to reach there.

I would just get rid of the phone and forget mounting it. Not an iphone fan. Or buy one of them things that clip to the vent?

I wouldn't put it there permanantly. Do you not use a radio or have you found a way to hook it up to the speakers in a very discrete way??

They sell a holder for phones there that might work, but it is down for me right now.

Thanks for reply.I have a holder. What I would like to have is a dock ,so I don't have to plug the power and audio cable every time Iget inside of the car.
The original Apple dock holds the phone in vertical position, not great for video.
