Default KEYS - Programming a basic set

K I have two sets of the basic keys for an 08 Outlander.

One works, the others Battery died and programs all messed up.

Anyways I followed the instructions in the manual to reprogram the second with the first...but it still dont work.

Anyone know the issue?

Dealer says they need to hook it up to the computer and I know he'll charge me $75 or more to do it.

I'm sure i am just missing a step somehwhere....

Aren't you in Canada? Unless yours is a US car, they have disabled manual programming of fobs in order for dealers to milk us further. My local dealer charges more for an oil change+tire rotation than a Lexus dealer...so $75 is not surprising.

Even for the Basic Key? Wierd, there are reprogramming Instructions in the Manual if one set works. You telling me thats a bunch of BS?

Doesnt surprise me...My Oil change from the DEaler charges be over $60 now with HST.

I think so, as it says "US Only" in my manual.
