Winter has come and gone and I have to say there was a noticeable difference. The idle speed has been raised when the outside temperature is low and the engine temperature is low while in drive and your foot is on the brake(eg. stop light). I'm not sure what the thresholds are but it's enough of an improvement to quit complaining at this point. The air is no longer cold but luke warm, enough to tide you over until you get moving.

outlander No heat
Hi. this is what I did to my outlander and I get heat at Idle no matter the low RPM. Buy on E bay audi auxiliary water pump $39 Gates hose # 19312 $7. remove air filter and housing. locate the hose that goes to heater core from thermostat housing. remove the hose, from the therm housing cut about 4" of the hose. hose is 5/8 and the pump is 3/4. spray the fitting with hair spay force hose on. hose #19312 from pump to heater core, no need to cut that hose. must put your own wires or audi / VW plug. + & - . wire it to a switch up to you where ever. Hope this helps. Pass it on especially to those in Canada. let me know. Thanks.
