Default Litlle blue bulb above the glove compartment...???

I discovered a little blue bulb with the wiring mounted right above my lower glove compartment, from inside and towards the left corner in my Outlander 2008. Wires are coming from the instrument table/radio direction and the bulb is really small, the size of approximately a LED diode. It has a mount in the plastic and removes by twisting. From what I find there is no visible use of it, doesn't light up when the glove compartment opens or when the lights are on, nothing in the manual either...
Any idea what is it, why blue or how to utilize it?
Thanks.

it's for glove box compartment probably, but not bright enough for anything. i actually replaced with blue LED light, it's slightly brighter , but not much. Same bulbs are used in the back of the rear seats when you fold them.

it is deffinetly the "glove box light".

it is only on when the headlights are on.

it does NOT go off when the glove box is closed.

Thanks Folks,
I checked again and it is indeed a glove box light. It is covered with blue rubber boot, which makes it so dimmed that it is useless. I peeled the rubber and left the bare glass bulb which now allows much more light and actually I can see the content of the glove box in the dark...
Thanks for answers...
