Default looking for advice on 2014 outlander sport se

hey guys new to forum and was looking for some advice/opinions on the 2014 outlander sport se.

ive been test driving cars all week ranging from jetta tdi, subaru crosstrek, and mazda cx-5 but i think for money spent + options and ride comfort the outlander sport was by far the best. basically im just looking for info on any known issues with these vehicles like major engine failures rust issues on older models ect. i had a 1994 eclipse back in the day and it ran great got over 200,000 miles before i got rid of it so i guess im hoping for same reliability. thanks in advance for any info.

When was Sport introduced, 2010 or 2011?

I doubt you'll find any Sport with 200,000 miles yet.

i know that im basically asking if there is any known major flaw engine wise with some of the older models that people are having issues with like ive found on the newer jetta tdi (flawed high pressure fuel pump) which could cost around $6,000 to $10,000 to fix the main reason im not already driving a 2014 jetta tdi lol trying to do ask much research as possible before spending my money never hurts to ask around .

Sport is using 4B11 2.0 engine used worldwide on Lancers and Outlanders.
No design flaws or build quality issues are known AFAIK.

To me, Outlander Sport is a really very underpower vehicle. If you are going for VW, go for the Tiguan.

Tiguan = a lot more $ less standard features and terrible mpg. Volkswagen = higher maintenece costs. No thanks. Don't care about going fast i got 2 kids so no future plans to hit the track lol. I was basically just seeing if the engine was giving anyone major problems. Thanks for reply though.

Plus you have 100K Powertrain warranty. Just in case something happens because of bad factory workmanship. But Mitsubishi are one of the most reliable cars in the worlds so i doubt you'll have any problems. I believe better than toyota or honda. And way better than VW. VW are junk, has lots of problems. They trick you with a good interior but the inside is crap. Same with mazda. Good exterior and sportier drive but engine is a failure!!! I've known lots of owners having complaints. Subaru is nice too. Heard lots of good things about them. Though dealers rarely give discounts. You can a good discount with Mitsu if you know how to negotiate. Upto 5K if you qualify with all the rebates.

Outlander sport engine is underpowered if you want to race. but daily commute is just fine especially if you drive economically. Probably not as sporty as the bigger outlander but its still a good drive. Good choice!!
