Default Louder Locking Tone

Hey-

Does anyone know if you can re-program the Outlander to make a louder beep when you arm the alarm? Sometimes I can't even hear the little thing and I am constantly checking the passenger side door handle to make sure the car is actually locked. Kind of strange request, but I love death metal....*grin*

i have the standard radio so only the dealer can do that.

the dealer plug the mitsubishi's computer than you can choose a louder bip

in the same time you can choose other option, check with the mecanic

for the first time, the dealer dont charge me anything but he told me he have to charge me next time

Does anybody know what the dealer uses to make the changes, is it a specific MMC thing or a standard Interface?

If you have MMCS you can do it yourself. Otherwise yes you are stuck with the dealer reprograming it for you.

You can have no beep, 1 or 2 beeps, and/or have the horn "chrip". I dont think you can make the beeps louder, so having the horn chirp is your best bet.

Its a series of codes/steps. So if its in the manual great. I have the MMCS so I can do it myself and dont have to look in the manual. The dealer knows the codes/steps, they can reprogram for you...

Theres 2 types of programming on the base radio. Some done with the key turned to something hold down or press something else. And program a few things. One of these things being the way the car acts when the remote is pressed. I know this because my husband changed it for me.

The other type is a very detailed list of things that the dealer can do with the programming thing. I can almost guarantee this is not a free service.

So its best to explore the manual before wasting time at the dealer.

Yeah and im sure its great to have the nav system however I paid $10,000 less than you did. Im willing to read the manual.
