Louder Locking Tone
ORIGINAL: BoldlyGoingNowhere
Theres 2 types of programming on the base radio. Some done with the key turned to something hold down or press something else. And program a few things. One of these things being the way the car acts when the remote is pressed. I know this because my husband changed it for me.
The other type is a very detailed list of things that the dealer can do with the programming thing. I can almost guarantee this is not a free service.
So its best to explore the manual before wasting time at the dealer.
Yeah and im sure its great to have the nav system however I paid $10,000 less than you did. Im willing to read the manual.

Since alot of people go to the dealer every so often for lets say, oil changes, going to the dealer is not a big problem for some... Unless your dealer is an A-hole, then they will be able to make the changes for FREE.
The nav system (MMCS) is awesome! I would of never got the vehicle without it.
So your saying you got your outtie for under 20k??
. Cool, but the MMCS is only a 2k option...
There is a procedure for the horn deactivation/reactivation "The Answerback Function" on page 3-10 of your 2007 Outlander Owners Manual. I do not think the horn will get any louder using the procedure. I would write (type) them here for all to read, but way too many words for me to type. This procedure is for non-F.A.S.T. key Outlanders I believe.
All-
Thanks for all the info - I guess I need to sit down and really figure out this MMCS thing. I'll go try and change the "beep" to a "honk." (even though change comes from within....or so they say)
