Default Made the plunge!

After a month of debating...we finally made the plunge and picked up a 2007 graphite grey pearl XLS with ipod accessory. We were between the outie & vue, then the outie & rav4....it was hard but we just wanted to thank all you guys for your advice. Yeah, the rav4 has more power and a better "name"but the quality of the outie and the warranty couldn't be beat. We got a XLS for the price of the base rav4 v6 (w/6 disc indash, 17" alloys, and some other useless options). Plus rav4 don't have bluetooth unless you're a verizon customer. So for a few duckets over invoice, we took one home! So again, thanks for the great advice and feedback! I would even get a 2008 evo but the wife won't probably let me....

The only downfall is that the outi has a manufactured date of Sept 2006 but driving it around and turning the steering, I didn't hear any "clunk" yet so...cross my fingers and see what happens.
On a side note, anyone know where I can get accessories such as mudguards and window deflectors? I don't want to get jacked at the dealers. thanks again!

Dont be alarmed if it has the "clunk" it is verry well known by now and can easilly be fixed if you stop by your dealer. I still have my "clunk" I just havent gotten around to taking it to the dealer yet.

Congrats on the purchase. I'm seeing more and more Outie's out there, saw two in one day last weekend. I was also driving behind a new Endeavor when a new Lancer pulled up behind me... string of new Mitsubishi's!

For these parts, the dealers should offer competetive pricing for you. Else, you can always get one from eBay, but sometimes, eBay is not worth it, because after shipping charges, the total costs could actually be more than what the dealer offers. And if you needed to return something, its always a pain to pay for shipping and wait.

The dealers here in cali charges an arm and a leg for everything and anything. They wanted $270 for the ipod cradle and adapter and installation. I got them to throwthat in. The mudguardsare $250, that's over $60 bucks each...nah, not a deal. I guess I gotta keep searching.

Great choice. The ipod adp. how is that wired in? Do you just had the wire coming from the dash to plug into the ipod? Does it display it on the screen? If it does how easy is it to use and how do they have it layed out?

There is a dealer that is sellingOEM accessories online for a decent price with free shipping I wont tell how much I think the flaps are because I dont want to get your hopes up. I will say that the window winddeflectors were only $35

Unfortunately I have the link at work and I am not able to post from work so you will have to wait until I get home to post it. Or you can look for it here, I think it was here in the topic about first impressions or something like that (its several pages long) Hopefully you can find it before I can post it

I got my mudguards (featured in this simple picture tutorial) for about 100$ after taxes. Still cheaper than eBay since I didn't pay the ridiculous shipping charges.
