I'm thinking about picking up a Versahaul to transport my scooter. Like this:



I have a 2011 XLS and Mitsubishi lists the maximum tongue weight at 350 lbs. The hitch (Curt) lists it as 500 lbs. The scooter weighs 322 lbs. and the Versahaul itself is another 94 lbs. for a total of 416 lbs. It comes out over the Mitsubishi max but under the hitch max.

Does anyone have any experience with using a Versahaul for something like this? And who's tongue weight spec should I believe? Mitsubishi or Curt? I'm guessing Mitsubishi is listed on the conservative side, but by how much?
