Default MMCS brightness

The other day being in Macedonia in northern Greece with rather low tempratures, near/below zero, I could barely see the MMCS screen when I started in the morning. I had to turn contrast & brightness to maximum, after a while things got brighter but still had to use higher settings for con.& brig.. I know LCDs are affected by ambient temp. but so much??? Members from Canada or cold parts of the States have any similar encounter??
Thanks

Don't worry dger. It happens a lot to me too. As far as solutions go, i just wait for the car to warm up.
