It may have to be reprogrammed as I believe the MMCS will show options for rear entertainment when equipped from factory.

Look here to check your electrical connections,

I installed my RES after purchase my Outtie and do not require any reprogramming. . .

Do you have the RES with the DVD player built into it?
If you do then the dvd player should work if it is connected to mmcs or not.

If you turn the key on and put a DVD in it should start to play.
If not I would check the power to the RES

If it does play then we can look at checking connection to the mmcs after but make sure that the RES does actually work first
