Yes, I do. I was able to program all 8 buttons on steering wheel for whatever function is supported by head unit. Obviously volume and track control first of all. Picture #5 shous IR light mounted on a dash. This isPAC SWI-X unit:

the only draw back with it - is noticeable delay between pushing the button and actual action to take place. Still acceptable.

Hertz, you do not mention bluetooth. I noticed there is blutooth interface for your stereo: http://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-KCA-...317&sr=1-2
From your experience, do you think it will be possible tohook upthe BT buttons on the steering wheel in your setup?

Thanks.

I did not install bluetooth module.

Basicaly SWI-X mentioned above will allow you to program any of 8 steering wheel buttons to correspond whatever buttion is on IRremote controller to head unit. According to manual, it would be possible to program buttons to answer the call and drop it. But I don't think it would be possible to start voice-recognition dial by pressing only one button on a wheel. Even so it is supported by head-unit equipped with module you gave a link to, voice-recognition dial is accessed through series of commands. And SWI-X does not support serialisation - reproducing sequence of commands.

PS
update to noise bustering with dynamatt.
dumpening all 4 doors made a difference. the end result is still not ideal but far better then doing front doors only.

Thanks, Hertz. One more question: what is the part number of that harness you got from installer.com? I got lost there.

Itis METRA 70-7005. Fits Outlander 07 also:

Unfortunatly this harnesshas no pins for remote control. Had to cut SWI-X wires directly.

While you have the door trim apart you can take the option of spraying rust proofing inside the door cavities for extra rust protection
