turns out, generic conversion kits are not perfectly matched for this vehicle.

The fact that they daytime running lights are generally run at a reduced voltage compared to normal means your HIDS are trying to turn on without enough voltage to work properly. HID lights are like a welding arc and require a high starting voltage to "jump the gap" and then a reduced voltage once the electrodes are warmed up. A "smart" and complex controller runs the show to create the high voltages from the 12V car systems. The controller is trying to compensate for the low voltage and that doesn't work well.

I don't know how you can make that work properly unless you find a way to kill any current to the lights if the voltage is below 11-12volts(daytime running mode) and then just run normally at 12+volts. Even doing that, you lose all your daytime running lights, so you need to wire up another system to do that, especially if you live in Canada as DRL are manditory on any vehicle built after 1990.

you've modified something without knowing how it functions.

HIDs are illegal if not OEM equipped anyway.

yah and the only way around the day time runners is add a relay to the hids to give a constent 12volts to the day time runners
