Default New filter

Hello, first post on here. My wife and I bought an 07 Outlander XLS in phoenix red almost 2 months ago. We really like it, although the mileage is a little lower than expected (even in 2wd). Anyway, I was tinkering under the hood and found out the dealer never installed a new filter, and it was filthy. Anyway, they gave us a new one. After installing it, I removed the grill and took off the baffle over the intake inlet. Wife informed me the mileage went down even more. Should I disconnect the positive battery cable to reset the computer? Gonna put it back on for now to see what difference the new filter made.

I think part of the problem was that I didn't put the box back together correctly. We will see what difference it makes.
