have an outlander: mitsubishi... hearing a sound louder at 20 mph, which gets less loud at higher speeds... Same noise on smooth or rough pavement- doesn't matter- the sound sounds like wheel bearing going out, that whah whah whah offbeat grinding noise like you'd hear with a wheel bearing sound. Can't pinpoint where noise is coming from. When on lift, noise isn't audible- only audible when driving- constant offbeat kinda grinding noise- don't know if it's transmission or wheel bearing. Wheels don't have play in them. The outlander is all wheel drive- replaced both front wheel bearings- still get noise
