Default OEM Hitch on 2014 Outlander SE

I am trying to get the specs on oem hitch that is on my 2014 outlander se(canadian ), i need max weight, tongue and can the hitch have weight distribution on it. I am trying to setup a towing package on this car with the 2008 jayco jayfeather ex-port 17c ,the trailer is 2900 lbs unloaded 3500lbs max but the tongue is rated 460lbs, trying to figure ways to help with tongue weight since the outlander says its rated for max 350lbs tongue. I want to put on weight distribution and sway, would also consider bags in rear springs if necessary but would like to keep simple. any insight would be appreciated.

Ballast the trailer behind the wheels to lower the tounge weight.

If Mitsu says 350 lb, i'd agree with them, they built it.

You do run the risk of pulling out the mounting screws from the frame rails

What's the best way to tow with a 2014 Outlander. I am pulling a 3000lb trailer with electric brakes and stabilizer bar. when I brought the trailer home I drove in auto and at the request of the dealer kept it out of eco mode. Found that the gears were constantly changing because of the hilly conditions. On the second trip I shifted manually and did not go above 4th gear which seemed to run better. I was told not to drive in 4wd. Any answers. Thanks

I think tongue weight is more limited by the soft rear suspension. I would definitely put airbags in if they make them for your car. Outlander is not an ideal tow vehicle, i'd only trust it with a hensley cub. The problem with a CUV is not the powertrain, it's the ability for it to control the large travel trailer with it's large flat surface areas in crosswind and as semi's pass by.
