Default Outlander bluetooth audio

Hello

Outlander 2010 model with bluetooth capability
HTC Magic

Phone is paired and connected with car stereo and I am able to make and receive calls via the car stereo.

However, when I choose bluetooth as media source there is no sound. Looking at the phone I can see that I am able to control the music player on the phone via the car stereo but no sound.

I have tested the bluetooth audio with a Nokia and it worked perfectly.

Any ideas?

On your phone.
Go to:
Settings
Wireless & Network Settings
Bluetooth Settings
Long click on whatever the bluetooth connection is named.

Then check the box for Media, or something like that, I don't remember what it is called.

Thanks but that is all done.

I can control the phone music player via the car stereo and when I turn up the volume on the phone it indicates that the phone is playing via bluetooth headphones. However, there is no sound coming out of the car stereo.

Try to upgrade your Android.
Are you using 1.6 (Donut)?

Firmware version is 1.6. Do you mean upgrade to 1.6 or from 1.6? And can you point me in the right direction if I need to upgrade? Thanks!

No, I mean upgrade to 2.1 or 2.2.
1.6 has many issues including Bluetooth functionality.

Best known to me source of ROMs for HTC Magic is XDA developers.

Do you have original 32b, or 32a (with 3.5mm audio jack)?
