It be kind of cool if he moded it and made it into a functional ram air intake.

RE: Outlander with hood scoop
Most of these scoop that are functional, are typically for an intercooler, ram air is complicated. I owned a Yamaha VMax (Before the kids) it had scoops on the side of the Gas tank.
Most people thought they were functional air scoop, but they were fake.So was the gas tank, it was located under the seat.
I know that they had some ram air kits for the bike, but it wasn't very popular, they're are much easier and predictable way to get more HPs.

RE: Outlander with hood scoop
Even tho theair ductswere fake they made that one sweet looking bike.
I had Kawasaki Mean Streak 1500 that i too parted with because of the little ones. I'd take being a Dad over the bike anyday, but i do still miss it. Maybe when i'm fat, old, and retired i'll get another one.
Off topic - Have you seen the new Harley custom? I saw a commercial the other day and can't recall the name, but it looked like an old school bike and was pretty nice.
