I closed on an 2007 outlander with a local dealership 2 weeks ago. The dealer says he is still not able to locate the car (XLS (grey), sun sound + navi + luxury) I want in the entire US southeastern region. Does anyone one know if Mitsu is having an inventory problem? Also do you know what the lead time wouldb e if the dealer can make a customer order to mitsu directly if he is not able to locate the car in any other dealer inventory?

 

My dealer has at least a dozen on the lot, but they had to go about 300 miles to find the exact one I wanted (XLW 2WD loaded -Nav)

You've got a pretty popular combo there with the color and options.

On the road, I see about twice as many over the LSs

 

I got the one you're waiting for a week ago in NJ. Dark gray, 4WD, fully loaded. The dealer spent about 20 min. searching for it and finally found it at another dealership 30 miles away. A day after I had it.

From what I understand that is the most popular color/option combo. I have the same one, and the dealer I bought it from had to find it for me. The dealer they found it at had three, sold two that afternoon and I got the last one.

 

Yeah that grey is verry popular, I loved my thunder grey RA[&o], if it wasnt for my wife convincing me to get black I would've been on the waiting list with you.lol.

 

I got the only one within a few states of NJ when I bought mine on Jan 31. It is grey, xsl, sun, sound, 4x4, navigation and luxury. It was tough finding the exact combo I wanted but I wasnt going to give up paying 27k before tax, title, and yadda yadda. Good luck finding it. So far I have yet to see an XLS the same color as me on the road.

 

Should I check with another dealer then? Not sure if that will help since my dealer is saying he has checked the entire inventory in the southeast region and he can't find one. I am not sure checking with another dealer would help. Pl advise.

 

Your dealer has access to inventory North American wide - if he can't get one at the moment your probably SOL.

 

When we got ours in Jan. we had to go 500 miles away to get it, xls and all options you listed.
