that taped up plug is the where we taped into.

the way I found it was by sitting in my car testing each wire with a multimeter waiting for a 12v reading to turn on when in reverse and off in neutral. that's the one your signal wire gets tapped into.

Acc. to the wiring diagramm taken from the workshop manual (in post #18) the signals for camera operation come through terminal C-108. The related connector was plugged in into the OEM radio, therefor there should IMHO be an adaptor to connect this wires to the new radio, too.

Correct, if you look at my wires, were the black box is there is a small square connector which fits here, but this gives me the black box with yellow and black wire.

The seller said to cut the back wire on the cambus and join the non cambus end to the yellow wire and the black to ground.

I also found cream with silver strip in a few plugs but none work either.

might have to get a multimeter

Honestly that's how found the wire to begin with.

Sorry that I don't have the direct answer. But simply put once you find that back signal and connect that to the blue back wire coming from the canbus unit, everything should be fine unless theres a further problem down the line!

Its all appreciated, i will get there in the end.

So i would cut my blue "back" wire and find the camera live when reverse, then join together, so the camera live when reverse will go directly into the cambus decoder right? what happens to the the other side of the back wire?

Okay i have worked out what i need to do, i have got the camera to come on by adding a live feed into my aftermarket loom, the only problem is it does not turn off, so i need to find the wire that powers up when i go into reverse.

One would think it was on the C-180 cable in that Dingsbums supplied, but its not.

I am now trying to find the wire that only powers up when shift into R any Ideas?

I have checked every wire on every plug in the dashboard, nothing so far.

Really? Did you check Wire #6 on C-108? Designation is: Ignition switch: ON position, Selector lever: R position. This should be the signaL you are searching for...

Its weird, i have it all set up so when the blue "back" wire going into the aftermarket stereo goes live the camera engages fine but when i plug the blue wire onto the correct pin on c-180 (6) nothing happens when i shift into reverse.

In fact, when i test any pin on c-180 with a meter i get no change when i go in reverse.

It would make sense that pin 6 would go live when i go into reverse and therefore liven up the back wire to engage the camera, right?

So close..

Ended up running a wire from the drivers side reverse light live to the dash, works as it should now.

Thanks for all the help, dont know why the c-180 plug is not acting the way i would expect, it does works fine if i plug the oem stereo in, weird.

Anyway, got there in the end, also installed my OEM add ons i've been putting off, front headlight protectors, bonnet protector and wind shields. looking pretty good.
