Any questions or road bumps let me know, it still has some way to go but its running okay with much more functionality being Android.

Hi dgorgio, that black box with the yellow and black wires that feeds into the camera connector, I'm pretty sure it's the power for the camera. From what I can see here the camera works off around 6-7V and the black box may be a voltage regulator. Unplug the connector, hook the yellow to accessory power and black to earth and measure the two pins the box connects to on the connector to check.
As for the reversing signal, I think it's detected by the Mitsubishi stereo using the Can bus, I'm going to have to source the reverse wire at the ETACS box where it goes off to the reverse lights.
I'd love to have the custom camera connector though, do you have a link to the stereo you bought?

Did the new canbus fix the problem?

I am having the same problems with this unit

New !Android 4.2 car dvd gps for Mitsubishi outlander lancer asx 2012 2013 2014 radio bluetooth SD USB+Canbus+Capacitive Screen-in Car DVD from Automobiles & Motorcycles on Aliexpress.com | Alibaba Group

The Chinese seller does not have clue and does not believe that the canbus decoder controls the original reverse camera and steering wheel commands.

I have been told by an auto electrician that the canbus is the problem, if only I could get it acroos to the seller.

Hi Oldsalt,

This was my way of fixing the issue, it turned out that the OEM stereo handled the reverse function internally.

The Yellow wire needs to connect to the + Positive of the power input cable
The Black wire goes to vehicle earth
The Back wire from back of stereo to the live of the reverse light

So now when i reverse the stereo stops function and camera works, when out of reverse the stereo return to normal. (All Good)

Hope that helps..

If you check out the link I posted, you will see the wiring is different.

The small grey plug that connects to C108 is all pre-wired in the supplied loom.

I was assured by the seller that the OEM camera would work, but it doesn't.

Given that both my rear camera and the steering wheel controls don't work, I believe that the can-bus decoder is the wrong one or faulty.

Given the sellers reluctance to help, I would just buy a new can-bus, but I can't find any for sale.

The wiring looks very similar but your stereo is more modern than mine, Android is not too fast with 512MB ram.

I was also assured that the unit would be plug and play, it was not, the plugs fit to the oem ones but the camera never worked, but the rest did.

Good luck

This seller is trying to tell me that the Can-Bus decoder they supply with the unit is no way related to the OEM reverse camera or the Steering Wheel Controls.

I think he is wrong and that the Can-Bus is required for the camera and steering controls to work, otherwise why do they supply it?

I have searched the web for an answer and I can't find one.

Does anyone know for sure that the can-bus decoder is relative to the camera and steering controls?

I would love to get a definitive answer to send to this seller.
