The V6 reaches 90% of max torque at 2,000 RPM, so you not will be disasspointed by available torque. At 80 mph (130 km/h), RPM depends on what gear you are in and the terrain...I've seen anything from 2,000 to 3,500 (top at about a 9% grade at that speed). If its flat its probably around 2,000.

I was able to test the GT and I LOVE this engine after driving the outlander sport 2.0, outlander 2.4 and finally the 3.0 V6.

When you start the car it sounds great already with a little vibe you can feel on your steering wheel, alot like a truck torque when you get going, using alot of gas though if you are not careful. Alot of reviews says engine is noisy, they are expecting a luxary car, unlike the 2.0L Mivec, this is a great sound.

Even I drove the Acura with 40 more HP and 3.5L it did not have that torque set up that way, typical honda where you rev it sky high before it will start to pull though.

Good to hear you like it.
Some peoples "noise" is another persons music. I love rolling down the windows and listening to the engine...especially nice when engine braking...you would think it has an aftermarket sport exhaust (not a fartcan noise).
Granted I do it in city driving and not at 80 mph...perhaps the noise isn't as pleasant then.
I find the best performance on the AWC model is in 4WD lock, it reduces throttle lag and turns it into RWD (60% to rear) under heavier acceleration. I just treat it as a "sport" mode. I don't know how the S-AWC model behaves, but its not a true "lock" on either models.

I purchased a 2012 GT 5 weeks ago and love it. Quick acceleration and tight steering! Got the Touring, Navi and FUSE packages. I looked at the RAV4, Forester, Sorento and Escape but I liked the Outlander the best.
