I believe that it can be installed only if you have rockford fosgate system with amplifier, but if you have that, than you would already have sub... so, it can be installed, but not easily

If you bought the OEM subwoofer that fits into the back corner of the Outlander, it probably won't be an easy plug-and-play setup. The factory system has an amplifier under the passenger seat that powers it. You have to start with that if it's the OEM Rockford Fosgate system you're talking about.

The Rockford Fosgate woofer assembly you have is a dual 1.1 Ohm woofer rated at 75WRMS on each coil. So you would need an external amplifier that delivers 150 Watts continuous at 2 Ohms (Rockford Fosgate PBR300X1 works good) if you don't currently have the Rockford Fosgate OEM upgraded amplifier under the passenger seat.

I also bought this subwoofer. Its definitely not plug and play. I had an aftermarket double din unit in, so all i did was i ran complete new wiring for my pioneer amp and sub. I goes really good but the only issue i am still having, is some interference that i cannot seem to pinpoint.
