Outlander's Panic Alarm

RE: Outlander's Panic Alarm
The new fast key you pictured is the same FAST key used in my 08 Lancer. Just in case its different than the 07 key you pictured, one thing to keep in mind about the 08+ FAST key is how to start the engine with the emergency key. When you insert the bare metal key into the ignition, you must ALSO turn the keyfob part around and insert it partially backwards into the key while turning it to crank the engine. This is because the passive transponder chip is in the fob, not the metal part of the key, and only has a range of a few inches. I'd hate to see anybody upgrade their key and get stranded for not knowing this if the battery in the key dies.
If this is the same behavior as your older model keys, disregard

RE: Outlander's Panic Alarm
It is true what you say Brian360, but is a smaller disadvantage because anyway I will be able to turn on my Out in case of died battery of the transmitter, is more simple with the previous FAST key, but I like model that now I have. Just one pic to clarify what you say

RE: Outlander's Panic Alarm
This is interesting, a while back we had a thread on what to give the valet, when you used valet parking. Some people (with the 07 key) said that they would only give the emergency key, I always thought thatyou should give the fob and keep the emergencykey with yousince it locks the glove box, and you can put any valuables (i.e sun glasses, portable GPS,...)in there. With the new key you don't have a choice.
