Default Oxygen sensor help

The engine warning light on my Outlander 2006 is constantly flashing. Diagnostics show faulty oxygen sensor bank 1 sensor 1. There is only one sensor just before the cat. I have been struggling to find the replacement part. Can anyone advise how I can find the right part?

The vehicle was imported used from Japan. I cannot find a VIN number anywhere.
Engine Size is 2.4L
engine number is AB98354B12. Model is DBA-CW5W

I pulled the faulty sensor and examined it. It has the following markings:

On the main body

1588A069
0 258 006 844
Germany 12V

on the shoulder it is marked
682142
(020) D/

Any help would really be appreciated. I have called dozens of dealers and no-one seems interested.

Thanks!

The top number is your part number. You should be able to find a new oxygen sensor at most parts stores...this should not be a dealer only part. Googling the part number, it may also be called a lambda sensor.

Your VIN number should be printed on a sticker where the door closes against the vehicle body, or on the door itself. generally there is a small plate with a bar code visible through the bottom of the windshield near one of the sides.
