Quick question about interior Trim....
FRONT PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL
That is from the Service manual. Has anyone tried this? I am worried about the 'Cut the clip' portion..... I am trying to install a Dash cam in my Outlander Sports and want to hide the electrical wiring.
- Pull down the front or rear pillar trim as shown in the figure.
- Cut the clip at the cutting position shown in the figure, taking care not to damage the other components.
- Remove the clip remaining on the front or rear pillar trim, taking care not to scratch the trim.
- Remove the clip remaining on the vehicle side by breaking it to prevent damage to the flange of the clip mounting hole.

Can't imagine why something would need to be cut. I've had the front pillar off my 2014 outlander on several occasions to route wires to my radar detector and additional Garmin gps. Same with my wife's 2013 outlander sport. If you are just routing a single wire you can probably do it without taking the pillar off. I just do it because it is quicker.

My Biggest worries are the side air bag.
I already did that to my Lancer and since my lancer was very close to the base model, it was rather easy....
Did you see the air bag when you took the pillar out? Also, is there a space behind the glovebox that allows you to route the wire from the pillar back to the near the cigarette lighter area with many holes already built?
