Has anyone experienced a rattiling noise coming from the exhaust muffler area before?

 

I got under the muffler and found where it is coming from. The muffler side is rusting and coming apart, does anyone know if that is covered under the 7 year corrosion warranty? Anyone have a similar issue?

 

I believe mufflers are a wear item....not covered.

 

Really? Can anyone confirm this? If it is not covered what is the best brand of exhaust/muffler to go with?

Booklet page 14 & 15 covers US Federal emissions warranty. 5yr/60k mile. Mufflers were not on the list of pieces covered.

Honestly, I have no clue! I'm sure all the performance mufflers are great, but I'd be leery of the sound.

I might even check what midas/firestone/napa would charge for a replacement and warranties.

just checked the OEM muffler is 350 online...haha no.
