Question Rear Seat DVD head unit - not working

Folks,

Got my Outlander today - a 2nd hand Diamond version which has the roof mounted DVD player for the rear seats. It doesn't seem to work. I'm still within warranty so can get this sorted out but I was wondering if it could be something common and thus simple to fix???

cheers

My unit is sometimes reluctant to read certain discs and the kids are always shouting at it! I tell them to try another disc which usually then works. I've not heard of any common problems with them, but they do seem temperamental.

Does it operate at all? If not I would get the dealer to look at it.

Question

Thx

The screen functions - it comes on and you can try and adjust the brightness and such like but it will not play anything entered into the unit - DVD or CD.

It looks like it is the ROSEN Z8 unit - not sure as I did not receive any manuals for it - nor any remote or anything.

Wondering if there was REBOOT to factort defaults type option??

My unit is the Rosen T8. it should come with a remote control.

There is a reset detailed in the manual, it is positioned on the main units body with the screen open its on the left hand side. The manual says to hold the reset button down for 3 seconds or more.

The T8 manual can be downloaded from here

Thx - I checked out the site and I can honestly state mine is the Z8 model due to the dome light locations and the fact the Z8 has a different location for the Aux (plus RCA style).

However the reset function is the same but it did not help - the unit certainly goes through a re-cycle but still the same issue - nothing plays - the player makes the noises accociated with spinning a DVD/CD disk but I see nothing on the screen.

Looking like a warranty job which will take time ;-(

The only other thing I could suggest is to try a lens cleaning CD and see if that helps.

Thumbs up

cheers folks - I have tried a CD/DVD lens cleaner and that did not sort the problem out either so it looks like a case of going back to the Mitsubishi dealer whom is now not reponding that the sale has gone through .
