Default Regenerative Braking

Hi

I have just taken delivery of a 1 year old outlander PHEV which is a great car. However.....

Can any one tell me more about using the regenerative braking? Is it just for around town, should I always have it on, how much difference does it make, are there any tips for maximising your mpg?

Thank you in advance

I always drive round with mine set to B4 mainly because to me it provides the same level (feeling) of engine braking to that of a petrol car and this generates a bit more charge as well without using the brakes.
