Default Reversing Camera Problem

Hi all,
New to this forum and new to Mitsubishi's so, firstly, Hi

I just picked up a 2007 Overlander 2.0 Diesel Elegance today and it has the Fosgate audio system and MMCS installed. The car is absolutely brilliant - I love it

It all works perfectly apart from there is what looks like the factory reversing camera installed above the number plate (off to one side) but nothing happens on the MMCS screen when I put it in reverse.

Any ideas please ?

If it's of any significance, I think someone has been playing around with thre reversing lights. When I put the car in reverse, the reversing lights are kind of blue in colour and don't seem very effective at all.

Mine is a little newer, but the screen for the reverse camera is in the rear view mirror. Is it possible yours is there as well?

Hi ckmecha, thanks for the reply but unfortunately it isn't a feature of the rear view mirror (it's just the basic, bog standard mirror).

Have a look for a switch on the dash as some people like to turn it on while driving.
Im trying to remember someone else in the forum that had issues with powering on with the reverse lights..do a search. Possibly some one tried and failed. Factory installs I've seen are mounted in the center. Obviously check the wiring of the lights where the cam may be wired... which I presume you have

That's a good idea HJB - I will look for one. The only one I have noticed so far is one near the circular holder forward of the gearstick but it turns out that is for the alarm system (extra leaflet about it found with manual).

However, in the Mitsubishi brochure, the cam is shown fitted to the side of the number plate, hence why I thought it was factory fitted.

I'll have to retract that now as last night on the motorway I started looking and three had them to the left :-)

LOL I still haven't checked the wiring yet so I guess I should do that.

I am wondering if the reversing light bulbs have been changed out at some stage as they are pretty poor - especially in daylight.
