Default ROAR side garnish kit install?

How do you install the ROAR side garnish kit? 3m tape? Do you cut off the plastic points that are supposed to go where the holes in the door would be? If anyone has some insight, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

As far as I know the side garnish comes with 3M tape already but it is not enough to keep the side garnish secured at high speeds that's why they had the holes placed in the door panels.... You may be able to add extra 3M tape to secure it well...

I have installed a ROAR side garnish in my Outie for more than a year now. The 3m tape is more than enough to hold it, no need to drill holes, what I did though isput additional 3m tapes on top of the pins attachment point. I have it for more than a year now and it's still holding perfectly, rain or shine.

Just make sure though you clean the attachment area very well. Make sure there are no oils or grease where the 3m tape will attach. Have also a blower or hair dryer handy. I heated the area a bitwhere the garnish will attach beforesticking the tapes for perfect adherence. It took me less than an hour to put everything.

I installed mine with the perimeter tape alone. It's holding up just fine so far.
I would only recommend following the installation guidelines to position the garnishes perfectly on the door. I did not and it took me some effort to place them properly. Fortunately, they came outvery wellif not perfect.
It's about making those 3 mm and 9 mm spacers from the white adhesive foam provided and stick them on the doors to guide you whenpositioningthe garnishes on the door.Although the instructions arein Japanese, there is apicture of it.
And yes, cleanvery, very well the surface - wash the area well, dry, wipe with isopropyl alcohol and then heat witha hair dryer.

Do the plastic pins come out or do you cut those off? The pins that are supposed to go into the holes in the doors we U.S. buyers don't have.

Any idea where to buy some extra 3M tape?

I was going to clean, dry and wax the outlander before putting these and the mudflaps on. So the area under them is protected.

Thank you for the replies!

Don't wax... just wash, dry, clean with alcohol and stick the parts on. then after you are done you can wax...

You can get 3M tape at most hardware stores(if they have an auto section) and auto parts centers...

Pardon my ignorance on this post. I took a closer look at the side garnish kit and the white plastic pegs just slide right off of each piece. DOH! Next time I'll look the parts over better. Thank you for the replies. I just need it to be warmer than 45F now and no 40mph winds, so I can wash my filthy Outlander and install this garnish kit.
