Default Roof Rack Noise

Has anyone installed an aftermarket set of crossbars and noticed that it makes a bunch more noise? I put a Yakima rack on it with Lowrider towers and it makes a heck of a lot of noise above 60mph. To those that have installed crossbars, did you install faring when you put the crossbars on? Would that reduce the noise?

I Installed a Thule roof rack this summer on my XLS and at first I tried without the fairing and it was making a lot of noise so I decided to install my Thule fairing and the noise went away the only thingis that my fairing is right on the sunroof so I can't open it during the summer but I still have plenty of light it does not bother me anyway. But a fairing is the only way to go for cutting down the noise.
Here's a photo of my XLS with the rack.

Roach, your car looks really good with that rack on it. How much was it?

I installed my Rola crossbars andtheydomakequite a bitof noise. I took them off and I will install them as needed. After some practice it doesn't take too long to install them so I enjoy a relatively quiet ride for most of the time.
I wonder if this isusual for the OEM crossbars on other cars.
