Default Running a wire through firewall

I am installing a trailer brake controller and cannot see an obvious place to run the cable through the fire wall. Any suggestions?

What is the wire used for? Why not use the spare connector that runs from the engine bay to the rear spare connector instead?

I ran mine through the firewall behind the glove comparment/cabin air filter. There are some grommets there you can run through. Hard to get at from the engine bay, but easier to see from inside. Take the lower glove box completely out and have a look from the inside. You may need to use a coat hanger from the inside as a fishing hook to pull the wire through from the engine bay.

I'm looking at installing a brake controller as well!

What do you mean by using "spare connector from the engine bay to rear spare connector instead"? Where do i find these connectors?

Thanks Dave
