Default Second used oil analysis is in!

I think I found a spot that I'm comfortable with...7.5k with Pennzoil Platinum or Mobile1.

Thanks for posting. Good to know what a baseline engine may look like.

Of course everyone should get their own done if they are thinking about extending their OCI. 12,000km is very enticing.

I'd like to see what results the Canadian Tire all synthetic Motomaster oil would get. On sale this week for $22 for 5L.

If you are an aggressive driver I would stay away from Motomaster oil, it does not stand up to punishment.

Mobile 1, Quaker State or (my favorite) Royal purple, is the way to go.

Sale ended Thursday night - CT flyers go from Fri-Thurs.
I see Pennzoil Platinum is $23 this week. With sales at CT you have to go at lunch on the Friday or right after work since it will sell out quick.

That is what the used oil analysis would prove. Do you have any data to back that statement up with?
I'm sure it would survive a standard 6000km OCI just fine but I am not confident of the quality of the product over an extended OCI.

Rumour has it based on the MSDS sheets and the BITOG forum that Shell is likely the manufacturer using a Group III basestock. I plan to find out with a UOA when the weather is better and I can do some oil changes myself.
