Shifter sticking in Park

Shifter sticking in Park
Within the last week my 08 Outlander has been getting stuck in (P) Park when I am trying to go anywhere. I have to sit and shake the car to move it to Reverse or Drive. Any ideas as to why? Thanks

It says something about this in the Owners manual. Tells how to correct it. It must be a common problem and Mitsu doesn't have engineers capable enougfh of fixing it.
Don't recall the specifics, but it is discussed in the owners manual.

It was about the switch on the brake pedal. When you press the brake pedal the switch is supposed to:
1. disengage the shift interlock (so you can shift out of park)
2. turn on the brake lights
There was a batch of 08 Outlanders (including mine) where that switch malfunctioned and needed to be replaced.

Could be that recall items that never got addressed by the previous owner.
