Default Side view mirror demister

I know this feature has been posted around this forum few months ago, if I remember it right it only works in some model range in a particular area.

When I was flipping on my owners manual I noticed that on the fuse box located in the passenger compartment, there is a fuse outlet for this feature. I am not a technical person so I want to know if this feature will work or if there is a possibility that it willwork just by inserting a correct fuse on that outlet.I am also unsure if it has its on/off switch or does it work in conjunction with the rear window demister.

Any ideas will be highly appreciated. Thanks

If you have the US Outlander then likely that you will need the actual heating element on the mirror itself, and the fuse. The wiring is mostly likely already there.

Thanks, mine is Australian model. I assume though that there is no individual switch for this feature.

From previous posts, the heated mirrors should heat up when the climate control is set to defog. It should switch on too when you defog the rear glass.

wait is this just rear mirror or the side mirror? B/c here in seattle temperatures are dropping and everything. I go outside and see my outtie iced up and when i start the car and put the temp to 85, defrost switch on, and turn the dial to the defrost. But then how come my side mirrors didn't defrost? I mean rime ice is still there on the side mirrors. Is this a feature on the US XLS outtie?

From what I have heard the mirror defrosters are found on Canadian versions and maybe on some northern US versions. Otherwise, most US version do not have the mirror defrosters.

Anyone have a lead on the heated mirrors for us non-heated folks? I am moving to Colorado next year and would love to have them.
