Default simple tire valve stem question

Simple question here folks,

can any valve stem cap be used on our outlanders (2009)? The originals are gray, and I was told that due to the monitoring system, only certain ones fit. I just noticed 2 were missing after my oil change (they checked the tire pressure).

Thoughts?

Thanks!

if you are talking about the little plastic cap, yeah, those are universal.

I'd go back to the oil change place amd have them replace them.

yeah, I'm heading back after work. I just wasn't sure if other caps would fit since I have been told twice now that standard caps won't fit due to the stems are being used in a TPMS.

I really don't care what gets put on, as long as they fit properly and allow the TPMS to function.

the valve stems are part of the TPMS sensor. The caps are just caps...they'll fit anything.

Got some replacement ones...no problem.

And I went back to the mechanic that said you need special caps for the TPMS and showed him that you didn't. He flat out denied ever saying that, until his coworker threw him under the bus and said that he did say it lol. They started arguing and I left haha.
