I love the car to bits but this cvt issue is seriously annoying.

@ Sacky Shivute: Mechanic for Windhoek .Dula +264813768154, Marco Auto Clinic +264811272479, Tommy Lombard (Okahandja) +264812964245. For Transmission: Gear box and diff doctor (Anton) 061-227104.
Remove sump, let the old oil drain completely, clean filter, Anton might have a machine to suck the old oil out and put new oil (Mitsubishi CVT J1).

Stay away of CVT transmission
My Outlander started having CVT issues after 130,000km
It cost me $6000 to fix it
CVT is very weak and won't last compare to the normal automatic transmission.

I drove normally and the light didn't come back. It came on once on the way back. Please help. I had taken to a local mechanic last time and his diagnostic machine didn't through any fault codes
I had a similar issue. Solution: install an transmission cooler. You will need to change the existing heat exchanger with one that has 4 outlets.

Default Paper filter for cvt fluid

Hi, i guess you would have cleaned the metal filter for the cvt fluid which is inside the oil pan during the fluid change, did you also change the paper filter which filters the fluid which goes into the oil cooler... If this paper filter is old and clogged then circulation into the cvt oil cooler would get restricted and oil would get hotter. Hope it helped.
