Default Software update required for latest Europe maps?

Hi,

My MMCS (E06) is currently running Application 00.62.03 with M190 maps. I want to upgrade to the latest M250 maps.

I understand that to update the maps I have to unlock the HDD and then copy the new map files across.

I've found a copy of the M250 2014-A map files, however, do I need to upgrade the application software to be able to run the newer maps? The map files I've found don't contain a loader.kwi file which I understand is the updated firmware?

I've seen mention of a 80.02 and even 90.02 application version.

I can "buy" a "DVD in motion" hacked version of 80.02 but I just want the plain vanilla version.

So, do I need to upgrade to be able to use these maps and if so, can anyone help with a new loader.kwi file?

Thanks.

You don't have to upgrade your loading for using those maps.

Vadimus, I've tried to look for the process of changing a US manufactured system onto a European system (saw you comment on a different thread, I imagine you may have details on how to do this successfully). Is this a complicated process? I'm about to ship a 2007 Outlander to europe, and I've been hoping I can change it over to the latest euro maps. Can you point me in the right direction? Thanks!

Changing maps region is not a big deal.
But some things like FM radio step, NTSC/Zone 1 DVD playback and missing RDS cannot be easily resolved.

Vadimus, how do you go about changing from a US to Europe map? I have the update CD but it does not work in the 2012 Lancer evo MMCS. Does not register when inserted. Also, my vehicle shows that I am in Texas (currently in the U.K.). How do you update the current position once the maps are updated?

Thanks!
