Something's Missing

Just noticed this today as I was washing the vehicle.
I have no idea how or when that plastic piece came off, or if it was ever there.
Hate making a trip to the dealer just for this.
Any of you guys have a link for the accessories that goes there? Is it another turn signal? Reflectors?

Thanks rcpax; you saved me from an embarrassing trip to the dealer tomorrow.
I wondered if it was open on purpose as I couldn't see any damage, but all the Mitsubishi photos I looked at had both sides closed.
Any theories as to why it's open only on the left and not on both sides. I understand the oil cooler on the left, but it seems like a hack and not by design. Where's the oil cooler in the EU models? Is something being protected by the closed portion on the right?
I may have to look at opening the right side, or buy me some wire mesh for the left. Just doesn't "feel" right to not have both sides the same; breaks up the symmetry[sm=smiley33.gif]

It's not a hack at all, and it was built by design. I can't answer where the oil cooler is for the EU models, but I'm sure the engine bay is placed differently in those Outlanders because they have a diesel and not gasoline engine. This "unsymmetrical" openings are well employed by Mitsubishi in their rally cars, even Subaru. Just don't have the time to post pics at this time, but I will update you on this by tomorrow.
