Default Sourcing 8528A023 from Australia

Hi Ladies & Gents

As the thread title suggests I am trying to source the cable to connect my RSES with my MMCS

For some reason my Australian dealer has no listing for this cable at all - i know of the part number 8528A023 - but it doesnt apply here

My question is does anyone on here know where i can source one from the states or elsewhere - im sure they are all a universal fit

Hoping someone can help

Cheers from Aus

Hi

I bought mine from http://www.oemmitsubishiparts.com/. I live in Norway and they were willing to ship it here. Fortunately for me, a friend was travelling to the US at the time so he brought it back for me. Saved me the shipping cost.

On a side note, if you install this harness you loose the use of the RCA inputs on your RES.

Yes - I am aware of this, but thankyou anyway

Wouldnt I be able to take advantage of the RCA Inputs on the rear of the centre console, then send the signal through the MMCS to the RSES? - or does it not work this way?

I dont really want to lose inputs on the RSES, but if what I have described os correct, then that will suffice

In my experience you cannot use the center console inputs when the harness is installed. The harness connects to the D-123 connector under the front left seat. The center console inputs also use this connector so you can only have one. At least that is how it was wired in my car.

After the harness is installed there is still one large connector on the RES that is unused, and the VIDEO source is still active in the RES, so I am wondering if it is possible to reconnect the RCA inputs on the RES to another connector, or just splice them into the harness connectors.

The part in bold - I was thinking exactly the same thing myself.......might be worth giving a try

There is just one issue with splicing the cables into the harness connector: The RES has two inputs; VIDEO and FRONT. When the harness is not installed VIDEO is the RCA inputs on the RES, and FRONT does nothing. When the harness is in place FRONT becomes active and VIDEO does nothing. If I splice the cables I would have to select FRONT to use the RCA connectors, but if the MMCS is on and an audio source is active; radio/CD/Media Server it would play through the RES. The best I could hope for in that case would be interference between the MMCS and whatever souce is connected to the RCAs on the RES. This is why I would like to reconnect the RCAs somewhere else and use the VIDEO input on the RES.

On the opposite side of the RES there is a connector that looks very much like an S-VHS connector. Maybe that could be used. It would be for video only alas.

I cannot beleive that the intention was to loose the RCA connectors when installing the harness.
