"Spacesaver" Spare Tire ratings
Got a flat yesterday and I'm running on the spare for the rest of the week.
I know it's not a full size spare, but do I have the same limitations as a "donut" tire? Should i keep it under 80kph?
I've got about 200km of highway driving to do tonight, and I'm hoping I don't need to do a bunch of backroads instead.
Thanks!

The manual says 80kph because of handling and braking problems and the tyre is only supposed to be good for 200k total as the rubber is very soft to try and compensate for the above mentioned problems. If you go over that and have an accident your insurance can wipe you.

They put the space saver in to get the ground clearance. If you put a full size spare you will hit the ground with the spare on a lot of driveways and will hit speed humps if not careful. In Australia to get the cheaper 4wd import it has to have a certain ground clearance and the space saver is the only way to achieve that. I have no problem with the space saver.
