When we purchased our MY08 XLS Outlander second hand recently, it only came with the one key. A second can be bought from the dealer but they're expensive. I've tried some local locksmiths who can do keys with the chip but apparently the alarm is the problem. It has a removal hub in the ignition that you turn with the key in your pocket. This can be removed to put the actual key in. I'm wondering as to less expensive spare key replacement options?
