Default Spark Plug Model for 2007 Outlander

Hi there,

I am a happy 2007 Outlander XLS owner. My love one isabout to reach48000km. Dealer in greater Vancouver areais asking $369.99 plus tax for the regular maintanence. I think it way too much.

Can someone tell me the model# of the spark plugs? I know the 2.4 litre Outlander use NGK FR5EI or DENSO K16PSR-B8. Does my 3.0 litre Outlanderuse the samemodel? Where can I get the spark plug?

As for the 48000km maintanence,if I decide togoDIY, any special things I should know?

Thanks in advance.

If i remember correctly, the v6 uses the long life plugs. Only need to change every 100k km.

I have an 08 ES with the 2.4L 4 cyl engine. The warranty manual states that it has the iridium tipped spark plugs that only need to be changed every 100,000 miles. Don't know if this also applies to 07 models, but I would check first before buying any plugs.

Before you decide to DIY make sure you dont have to drop the engine mounts to get to the rear plugs against the firewall. Seems to be a common design when cramming a V6 into a small space.
I am not saying at all that the Outlander is this way, just a beware kinda thing.

Along these lines, why not download the appropriate section from the service manual? This will tell you not only what you might need to move around, but it will also tell you the installation torque for the plugs, confirm the plug part number, etc.. . .

Don't bother with the plugs the Mitsubishi Canada server usage schedule says to change them at 96,000Km if they are Iridium plugs.
