does anyone have a problem with the speaker rattling when a the door is closed or opened, maybe im being picky. i got my speakers and headunit from circuit city and had them installed and the speakers dont exactly fit inside the space in the door where the old speakers were, its only sttached really screwed in from the top and sides but the speaker doesnt reach down to the bottom part of the door metal int eh space so i can hear a rattle when i close and opent eh door, is there a way i can fix that or should i just live with it and is it expected

I bought mine also from circuit city, you need to go to bestbuy or another audio place, and pick up the speaker mounts for the car, or they are actually for a chrysler. I wish I had the packaging still for mine. THey are just plastic rings that mount to the door and then the speaker mounts to it, or you can actually make them out of wood like most places do. I actually had to modifier the speaker grill cover by cutting the plastic ring down a bit so that it didnt push into the speaker.. hopefully that helps I will try and take a picture but I dont think I can get that much of a shot of just the ring itself.. let me know this helps or doesnt, feel free to email me also at danielh@tplan.com

I definately wouldn't just live with it- it would drive me crazy- especially when you were trying to upgrade your system and it got worse. The bottom of the speaker needs to be attached- I wouldn't have left the shop with it like that.

yeah it defietely bothers me, your right, i upgrade my sytstem and it gets worse, i hate that rattle it soudns so unprofessionsal, i was thinking of getting a speaker baffle to put under the rim so it would subdue the rattle but do you think i could take it back to circuit city with my reciept and they could figure something out for me?

[sm=chairshot.gif] you would seriously do that to your car?????
Take it back and make them install it properly. If they cannot and you cannot figure it out, go somewhere that can. It's worth it to install audio properly!

cool- I'm sure that's much more satisfying than a "Mickey Mouse" fix. Circuit City is usually pretty good to me too.
