Anyone having issues with steering wheel volume control buttons malfunctioning? When I press up it goes down, when I press down sometimes it starts the voice command prompts. After about a minute or two it goes away. Anyone know what is happening? It's a 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander XLS V6

 

Exact same experience until the controls completely stopped working :-(

 

All the controls are useless now? What year make model and mileage?

bluetooth, volume, pickup functions: all out.

I looked in other threads - seems to be a problem with the clock spring. I ordered one (could have ordered from China for 10$ but it takes way too much time). I'll be good with a 50$ shipped from a local store and should get it by end of week or beginning of next....

I'll post back if it fixes everything.

I got exactly the same problem with my 2008 outlander. The problem started last year (124,000 mi )

 

Same issue here but it has been there since very early on - like 3rd year of ownership or so. Never bothered to get it looked at or fixed.

 

Exact same issues with my control as well until I replaced my stereo unit last month, and now my steering controls are useless.
